LG G Flex Curved Smartphone Gets Official

We have seen a number of leaked photos of the LG G Flex, the handset is now official and it features a 6 inch curved display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.


The LG G Flex is powered by a quad core  2.26GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, it also features an Adreno 330 GPU and comes with 2GB of RAM.

The handset comes with 32GB of built in storage, and a 3,500 mAh battery, the battery is one of LG’s new curved batteries that was announced recently.

“The LG G Flex is the best representation yet of how a smartphone should be curved,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “The LG G Flex with its distinctive design, innovative hardware and consumer-centric UX represents the most significant development in the smartphone space since smartphone became part of our regular vocabulary.”

The LG Gflex comes with front and rear facing cameras, the device features a 2.1 megapixel camera for video calls, and a rear facing 13 megapixel camera for photos and video.

Other specifications on the G flex include Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, LTE-A, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0, NFC and 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac WiFi, the handset also comes with a rear key, which means that there are no buttons on the side of the handset.


The 6 inch curved display on the handset is curved vertically from top to bottom, the Samsung Galaxy Curve is curved horizontally from left to right.

LG has also said that the LG G Flex comes with ‘self healing’ technology, which is a special protective film on the back of the device which will apparently remove any scratches on the back casing, we are not exactly sure how this works, although LG have compared it to Wolverine fro X-Men.

LG have announced that the LG G Flex will launch in South Korea next month this the major mobile carriers, as yet we do not have any details on pricing, and there are also no details on a release date outside of South Korea.
